Read between the lines

Meet Toby: 30, charming, selfish, and shallow as a kiddie pool. He’s a hotshot architect climbing the ladder at Grocorp (a New York developer), complete with a loft and a curated vinyl collection. Then there’s Ana: 29, an overly woke idealistic eco-warrior living with her chaotic big sister. Together, Toby and Ana are fireworks—until it seems like infidelity on both sides blows it all up.

When Ana storms out, she leaves her diary behind. Toby, unable to resist, peeks… and gets magically sucked in. Now he must watch his past self stumble through every cringey mistake of their relationship. And—he uncovers Ana was on a secret mission to take down Grocorp, and realizes maybe she didn’t betray him, after all. If Toby can escape the diary, he’ll need to stop Ana from acting as stupidly as she did. If he can rewrite their story in the real world—maybe he can win her back.

  • Magical diary = inventive rom-com twist
  • Character comedy: shallow guy vs. self-righteous girl
  • Escapist fun with sharp social commentary (gentrification)
  • Grit vs. gloss of authentic New York backdrop

  • Classic curse rom-com in the vein of Groundhog Day
  • Juicy roles for A-list comedic actors
  • Heartfelt, hopeful, and hilarious—with screwball bite
  • Perfect date movie in theaters, or an event on streaming
